The Career Women's Golf Association held its first meeting at Honey Bee Golf Club in 1990, with 22 women present.  Today we are over 190 members strong and growing.  The CWGA was formed to provide a supportive environment, education networking and fellowship for women golfers and aspiring golfers.  We are now at home on the fairways, expanding our enjoyment of golf, participating in tournaments and discussing business with clients on the links.

The CWGA also hosts an annual Charity Tournament currently benefiting Habitat for Humanity's Woman's project, "The House That Jill Built."  In addition to raising money for the project we also volunteer in building the homes.  In 1997 we hosted the first Virginia Beach Rally for a Cure with Golf for Women magazine, which benefits the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.

The CWGA has gained both local and national acclaim and serves as a model for other associations from Florida to California.  Through the dedication of our members, the CWGA has provided, for women, a challenging, but encouraging climate to learn the game of golf with an emphasis on "fun."
